The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) kicked off the start of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) application process for the 2014-15 season on November 3, 2014.

LIHEAP provides assistance for home heating bills to keep low-income Pennsylvanians warm and safe during the winter months. It’s available to renters and homeowners. Crisis and regular LIHEAP grants begin Nov. 3 this year.

National Employment Law ProjectThe National Employment Law Project welcomed the Obama administration's announcement of its latest efforts to improve the job prospects of the nation's nearly three million long-term unemployed.

In January, the administration launched a campaign to enlist businesses in a pledge to recruit and hire more long-term unemployed applicants and to refrain from hiring discrimination against them. The administration has now, working with business leaders, human resource professionals, and local public-private workforce partnerships, rolled out significant steps to boost the hiring of people experiencing long-term unemployment.

Individuals requesting child or spousal support will now have the option to submit court documents online using the e-Services feature on the Pennsylvania Child Support Website.

E-Services enables clients or their attorneys to request support services through the Pennsylvania Child Support website and submit court documents directly to their county Domestic Relations Section of the County Court of Common Pleas.
